LIGHT LINE TO BEACH.
1 RAILWAY DEPARTMENT TAKING ACTION. ■ ♦ It appears as though the Railway Department has seriously considered the proposition placed before it by the local Chamber of Commerce to construct a light railway line to the Beach. The District Traffic Manager and Engineer have visited Foxton on several occasions lately, and it is understood that surveyors are already busy taking levels. An estimate for the work will be submitted to the Minister for consideration and sanction at an early date.
