GIRL GUIDES.
. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee of the Girl Guides was held at the residence of Mrs Barr, Tliynne St. on Monday afternoon, Present were: Mesdamcs John Robinson, Barr, Iloore, Moore, and Misses Browning, Dent, Walker and Ross. A letter was received from the Foxton branch of the Plunket Society wishing the movement every success. The secretary was instructed to write Mr. Madge, thanking him for allowing tho girls going to Palmerston on May 14th for enrolment, to travel on his cliar-a-lmne at half rate. It was decided to hold Church Parades at stated intervals, the various churches to be visited in rotation. The captain was instructed to circularise the parents asking their permission for their girls to attend same. A church parade will be held on Sunday, June 27th at the Methodist church at 11 a.m. It is hoped that the girls will make an effort to begin paying off their uniforms as soon as possible and so help the committee with the expense of equipment. The enrolment of the company by Mrs Casey, of Palmerston N., will take the place in the school grounds on Thursday, June 3rd, at 10.30 a.m. and an invitation is extended to all interested to attend same.
