WANGANUI LICENSING CASE.

AYanganui, May 28. Judgment was given this morning in the case heard by Mr. Justice Alpers in the Supreme Court in which it was sought to remove A. G. Bignell from the AYanganui Licensing Bench, the action being brought by Samuel H. Shepherd. An order was refused, costs being allowed of twelve guineas. The action was brought on the grounds that Bignall was a shareholder in Foster’s Hotel at the time of the Licensing Election and that he might be biased in his opinions on licensing matters. The Judge held that there was not the least evidence of bias or that Bignell had taken part in any decision in which there might be a reasonable apprehension of bias.
