HOCKEY.
Upwards of 4000 people witnessed the Indian Army team defeat the Dannevirke reps, at Dannevirke yesterday, when the visitors recorded the largest score of the Dominion so far, being victorious by 20 to nil. ’ The visitors’ exposition outshone that of the home team all round, and they played a fast game from start to finish. A curtain-raiser between tho Manawatu and Ruahine ladies’ teams, resulted in a win for the former by three to nil. Owing to the above match the Foxton-W.E.O.G. game to have been played at Fox ton yesterday was abandoned.
