“THE WINDING STAIR.” Colourful scenes of far off Morocco, exotic romance and superb acting by an all star cast. These are Die ingredients of “The Winding Stair,” Die picturisation of A. E. Mason’s fine novel of the same name at Die Town Hall on Friday and Saturday. The story deals with the efforts of a young Englishman to regain the lost honour of his family name by serving in the French Foreign Legion in Northern Africa. But temptation comes to upset his plans—temptation wherein his love for a beautiful American girl dancer struggles for mastery over his duty to his legiment and his adopted country. Edmund Lowe, Alma Rubens and Mahlon Hamilton head the cast of prominent players. An O’Henry comedy “Transients in Arcadia” a variety scenic and Fox News will also be screened. Prices as usual. ROYAL PICTURES. “A Man of Iron,” the new Lionel Barrymore picture oil Friday at the Royal theatre, is the story of a loveless marriage between a steel magnate and Die spoiled daughter of a society adventuress. But lie was truly “A Man of Iron,” steeled to face problems in love as he had faced those in business. His battle for happiness carried him half way ’round the world. There is a tremendous lesson for those in love, and a greater lesson-for those who do not love, in “A Man of Iron.” First appearance in Foxton of Signor Probani Hanson the celebrated Danish Court Tenor. Buster Keaton will entertain you at the Royal theatre on Saturday, in the Metro-Goldwyn feature comedy, “The Navigator.” Also Signor Probani Hanson the Danish singer.
