AMATEUR CYCLE CLUB.
A committee meeting of the Foxton Amateur Cycle Club was held last night. It was decided to make application to the Borough Council for a permit to hold road races in the borough. The races for the forthcoming meeting are to bq as follows: — Five mile, round Cemetery block; three and one mile races around the Johnston Street block. The five and three mile races are to start at the Triangle and finish at the Post Office. The one mile race will start and finish at the Post Office. It was decided that all competitors assemble at the Council Chambers on the day of the races at 1.-15 p.m. and that the mile race be ridden in two heats. It was also resolved that a smoke concert be held for the presentation of trophies. Votes of thanks were accorded Mr. E. Parkin for a donation of 10/6, with which to secure a trophy for the mile race, and Messrs. Smith and Starkic for donating trophies for the best decorated pram, cart or tricycle. . Accounts amounting to £3 Is 6>d were passed for payment.
