PLUNKET SOCIETY.
The fourth annual meeting of the Foxton branch of the Plunket Society was held yesterday afternoon. Mrs F. Robinson (president) presided over a fair attendance. The annual report and balance-sheet (as previously published) /were'read the latter disclosing a credit of £ll 11s 4d. In moving the adoption of the report the president briefly referred to the year’s successful operations and stressed the necessity for a, permanent room for the society in order to meet the requirements of those seeking advice. Special mention was made of the services by all interested in promoting the welfare of the society’s operations. The report and balance-sheet were unanimously adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President: Mrs F. Robinson; vice-presidents: Mesdames Austin-Johnston, Walton and McDonald; lion, secretary, Mrs R. MeMurrayj committee: Mesdames C. Pearson, A. Ross, S. Austin, 11. Downes, W. Trueman, J. Chrystall, D. Christie, F. Rimmer, A. Baker, A. Heasman, F. Proctor, J. MI. Barr, and D. R. Barron; lion, auditor, Mr. Wl Trueman. Mrs McMurray was elected a life member of the Society in recognition of her services as honorary secretary since the inception of the Society in October, 1921. The secretary was instructed to write to the Foxton Girl Guides, expressing sympathy with their aims and objects and congratulating them on their successful start. It was decided that funds for the year's working be raised by the group system, the drawing for groups to take place at a later meeting, also that the committee take steps to form an advisory board to comply with the ruleh governing this branch of the Society. At the conclusion of the business, the president entertained the committee at afternoon tea. COMMITTEE MEETING. Prior to the annual meeting a commit lee meeting was held, when there were present: —Mesdames F. Robinson (president), Trueman, Christie, Heasman, Walton, McDonald, A. Ross, Rimmer, F. Proctor and McMurray. The Nurse’s monthly report showed visits to Foxton 5, to homes 8, adults visiting office 63, children (i(i, new cases 3. Accounts amounting to £24 15s were passed for payment.
