SOCCER.
tes. A. v. FOXTON. The above teams met on North St. Park, Palmerston North, on Saturday in good weather. Foxton won the toss and elected to play against the sun. Both teams .played very good football with Foxton playing a man short. It was not until twenty-live minutes had gone that RjS.A. registered their first goal followed at intervals of five minutes with another two. One minute from half time Foxton scored through P. Pedersen —half time, B.S.A. 3, Foxton .1. The second half started very keenly. R.S.A., from the kick off, went right through and scored their fourth goal. This seemed to wake the Foxton side up, and they now showed to advantage and scored tw'ice in succession through Taylor and Mounsey. Give and take play was now the order of the day. Foxton, feeling the want of their centre, lost golden opportunities to score. B.S.A. broke away again, but Foxton cleared, the ball rebounded off Lloyd and going through B.S.A. goal. Foxton played on gamely and tried to reduce the leeway, but met with hard luck. Before the call of time R.S.A. again got away and scored their sixth goal. R.S.A. G, Foxton 3. Mr. J. Davidson controlled the game satisfactorily. Had Foxton had a full team the result might have been better for them as they played very well. Foxton meet Athletic on Easton Park on Saturday.
