ROYAL PICTURES. Whoever hitches a negro and a white man together on a ghost breaking expedition promptly has the elements necessity for a rollicking comedy. When he adds to that a plot calling for action in a western setting he has concocted an exceeding clever story. “Spook Ranch’,’ the Universal Jewel production showing at the Royal theatre. An excellent Gentuary comedy is “Uncle Tom’s Gal.” Walter Vernon “The Singing Ventriloquist” will give another complete change of programme. Those who have already heard him will not want to miss this opportunity. Wallace Beery, John Bowers, Ben Lyon and others are to be seen in “So Big,” to be screened in Monday night. Monday night will be iho last opportunity of hearing Mr. Walter Vernon, the Singing Vent nihilist.
FIXE DRAMA AT TOWN ITALL.
‘’‘Thank You,” the leading picture at the Town Hall temporary pictures to-night has a cast which brings to mind happy memories of the same directors of “Iron Horse.” George O'Brien, .Jacqueline Logan, and .J. Farrell McDonald, all have prominent roles. The plmtodrnma deals with the troubles and persecutions visited upon a small town minister whose salary is inadequate to his daily needs. Village scan-dal-mongers arc treated in a highly amusing manner in the plot. A comedy “All Abroad” and Fox News complete the programme. Prices as usual. “Fires of Fate” Monday's picture, is a screen adaptation of Conan Doyle’s novel “The Tragedy of the Korosko,” exciting adventure story set in Egypt where the entire picture was filmed. Nigel Barrie and W ; anda ITowley are the leading players. A Larry Semon comedy “Trouble Brewing” is the chief supporting film. Prices as usual.
