NEW TRIAL ORDERED.
THE CASE AGAINST BAILEY.
The trial of Herbert Michael Bailey, aged 26, who was charged with negligently driving a motorcycle on the Rangitikei line on March 22, thereby causing the death of one Maurice Stewart, was concluded in the Palmerston North Supreme Court yesterday, before Mr Justice Alpers and a jury of t welve.
After a retirement of four hours, the jury was unable to agree and His Honour ordered a new trial, to be held at the next sessions of the Supreme Court at Palmerston North. ' The accused was allowed bail as before, in one surety of £l5O.
