FOOTBALL ON EASTON PARK.
SOiOCER CLUB GRANTED USE OF GROUND. Having plenty of time at their disposal at Tuesday night’s special meeting of the Borough Council the subject of football on Easton Park was resurrected. The discussion arose from a letter from the Foxton Soccer Club making application for the use of Easton Park every Saturday during the present season. Cr. Parkin said that the Rugby Club only practised on the park and played elsewhere. If the park wasn’t good enough to play matches on, it wasn’t good enough to practice on. Soccer should be given the use of the ground. Desultary discussion ensued and it was finally decided that the Foxton Soccer Club be granted the use of Easton Park at 10 per cent, of the gross takings, with a minimum of 10s a day.
