SOCCER.

ST. ANDREWS v. FOXTON.

The above teams met on Easton Park on Saturday. Foxton won the toss and elected to play towards the southern goal. Play was very even for the first ten minutes, but St. Andrew’s then took up the running and scored seven goals for Foxton’s one in the first spell. The second half started with St. Andrew’s still the agressors which attitude they kept up throughout the game, scoring no less than eight goals in this spell before the whistle sounded for time. Final, St. Andrews 15, Foxton 1. The teams were as follows: —St. Andrew’s: Houston, Dick, Bell, Gibb, Williams/ Coats, Hart, Davis, Kennedy, Rauson and Freeman. Foxton : McKnight, Crowe, G. Mounsey, Becconsall, Lloyd, Hinds, H. Pedersen, P. Pedersen, AV*. Mounsey, Taylor and Ferric. Foxton have some very good play ers, but no defence as all players signed are forwards. The management committee therefore had to place the players out of the respective position, hence their inability to be able to play the game properly. However a better result is looked to in the near future. Foxton will travel to Palmerston North to play Rangers next Saturday.
