HIGH COMMISSIONER’S CABLE
The High Commissioner’s cable, dated the 10th instant, reads: Manila market quiet and steadier. “J” grade, May-July shipments, sold at £39; Aprii-July shipments quoted at same prices. Output Ist January to 31st March was 322,000 baies as against 311,000 bales last year. Stocks of Manila at the 31st March were 173,000 bales as against 16,000 bales. Great Britain 25,185 -against 23,004. Sisal market is easy. . Tanganyika No. 1, April-June shipments, quoted sellers £43. New Zealand market still negligible and high points offered at £37; fair £34, March-May and July shipments.
