A GRUESOME DISCOVERY.
Christchurch, Last Night. While inspecting shingle works in the Wiaimakariri river on Sunday, three men were horrified to see a human skull protruding out of the shingle. The body was discovered to be that of Joseph Mac Kay, farmer, who was drowned on August 7th last year. An oilskin coat was on the body and a sack round the lower part. Practically only the skeleton was left. An inquest was opened to-day.
