HEALTH OF THE MAORIS
AIINISTERIAL STATEMENT
Rotorua, Last Night
This afternoon, the Minister of Health (Hon. J. A. Young) arrived at Rotorua and met a full meeting of the newly-constituted Arawa Trust Board, which now embodies the Arawa Maori Council. The Minister was welcomed by Raureti, the Hon. A. T. Ngala, and Tai Mitchell, who placed before him several matters relative to the health proposals of the Board.
The Minister replied sympathetically, undertaking to assist the Board to carry out a health' survey of the Maori villages throughout the Arawa district. He welcomed the co-operation of the Board in dealing with such problems as hospital and medical services for the Maori race.
