ELTHAM FIRE.
JURY ADDS A RIDER
Eltham, March 30,
That the four victims of the recent fire at the Dominion Boardinghouse met their death by suffocation and burning was the verdict returned by the jury when the inquiry into the fire concluded at 10 o’clock last night. A rider was added to the verdict: “That this jury strongly recommends the strict .enforcement of the borough by-laws dealing with the licensing and regulation of boarding-houses, particularly the by-laws regarding the provision of efficient fire escapes.”
