ALASKA DRAMA AT TOWN HALL.

To-night at the Town Hall temporary pictures “The Grub-Stake,” an exciting 8-reel drama of the Alaska and Yukon country, will head the programme. It is a romance of a girl iii the Alaskan gold rush who battled with her men partners and against her enemies, and won through to success and love. Nell Shipman and her famous wild animals are featured in “The Grubstake.” Supporting films are “Those College Girls” comedy and latest Topical Budget. Prices, adults 9d, children 3d.

Saturday night’s programme is headed by “Western Luck” in which the popular Buck Jones is seen in a thrilling story full of fast. action and daring stunts. Supporting Aims are Sunshine Comedy, latest Fox News and a variety picture. Prices: adults 9d, children 3d. ROYAL PICTURES. Steve Carnan, “angel” of the Blackbird Cabaret in “The Love Pirate,” the Richard Thomas production, released by F. 8.0., coming to the Royal theatre to-night, is the type of villain audiences like to hiss, and Melbourne McDowell has invested the part with all the remarkable histrionic ability of which he is capable. Extra: “The Riddle. Rider.”

Given an unusually line story, plus splendid characterization by its star, “The Midnight Girl,” starring Lila Lee, will be screened at the Royal Theatre on Saturday. Richard Barthelmess’ frequently expressed desire to depict various phases of modern youth on the screen will have new play in his forthcoming appearance as a West Point Military Cadet in “Classmates;” which conies to the Royal theatre on Monday. Comedy: “Wet and Warmer.”
