ROYAL PICTURES,

Central figures of two of the biggest successes of the past season are linked in a single photoplay, “The Teaser,” Universal’s sensational new comedy-romance coming to-night to the Royal Theatre, and in which Laura La Plante, of “Butterfly,” “Smouldering Fires” and “Dangerous Inncoence,” is the star, with Pat O’Malley, of “Go and Get It,” “Fools Highway” and “The Fighting American,” as the featured player. The story is an adaptation of the magazine story by Adelaide Mathews and Martha Stanley, telling the hectic and hilarious adventures of a girl who tries to llirt with all marriad men in her set to tease her aunt —and who gets neck deep into marital mixups and other troubles as a result.

Humour, the most effective form of argument, is J. M. Stahl’s chief weapon in the attack waged against the enemies of domestic happiness in his latest picture, “Husbands and Lovers,” showing at the Royal Theatre on Monday. Lewis S. Stone, Florence Vidor and Lew Cody are among the stars in the cast. “ROMANCE RANCH.” There is no doubt of the entertaining value of “Romance Ranch, the Fox Feature lilm screening at the Town Hall to-night. John Gilbert in the role of a young westerner of Spanish descent proves a great lover and a daring avenger of a serious wrong done his old grandfather. The star gives picturegoers several big thrills in “Romance Ranch,” perhaps his biggest moment being when he rides his horse full speed over a cliff. Supporting films in 10-night’s programme are specially strong including as they do a special A 1 St. John comedy, Highly Recommended,” a. novelty film A New England Farm” and latest Fox News. Replete with many gorgeous scenes and enacted by an all star cast that includes Doris Kenyon and David Powell, “Lend me your Husband,” the feature at the hall on Monday tells a great dramatic and at times highly amusing story of life among the upper ten.
