CRIME PUNISHED.

Auckland, March 19.

At the Magistrate’s Court to-day Leo Sylvester Hannan, 25 years of age, and George Edward Allen, 26 years of age, were charged with theft from the Commercial Hotel, and Hannan was further charged with wilful damage by using explosives on Rosenfield and Company’s safe.

Allen was described by the chief detective as a master criminal, with a bad list. He could handle explosives and was an organiser of crime.

MV. F. K. Hunt, S.M., sentenced A Hen to six months’ imprisonment ind two years - reformatory detenion, and Hannan to six months imirisonnient and one year’s reformaorv detention.
