YOUNG MAN COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE.

A. case of forgery was heard at the Palmerston North. Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning, when a .young man, 19 years of age, a labourer, named William Clifford Ballam, was charged with, on March 9, at Palmerston North, making a valueless cheque for £ll 10s 6d., drawn on the Bank of New South Wales, Palmerston North, purporting to be signed by 11. A. Gardiner, of Glen Oroua, with the intent that it be acted up as genuine. Accused, who had nothing to say, pleaded guilty, and was committed to the Supreme. Court at Palmerston North for sentence.
