ROYAL THEATRE.
Because Frank Douglas, wealthy rancher, shot and kileld a coyote who crossed his desert path, he created a circumstance which placed him in the shadow of the gallows. That is one of the amazing situations in Jack Iloxie’s latest feature, “Ridin’ Thunder,” the Blue Streak Western coming to the Royal theatre, Wednesday. Douglas, an Arizona cattle raiser, suspected rustlers of making away with his stock and threatened to jail them. While he isT- ferreting out the cattle thieves, the king of rustlers is mysteriously murdered and Douglas is suspected of being his murderer. Accused and tried, Douglas is sentenced to be hanged —executed for a crime of which he is innocent.
When two neighbouring ranchers are continually at sword’s ends it is dangerous for one to find cattle with his own brand among the herd of his enemy. However, that’s what happened in “Taming the West,” a Universal-Gibson special, starring Hoot Gibson, coming to the Royal theatre on Friday. Comedy: “Sir Walter Raleigh.” Extra: “The Riddle Rider.”
