FOXTON RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB.

ANNUAL REPORT OF ' COMMITTEE.

The following is the report and balance-sheet to be presented at the annual meeting to be held in the Methodist schoolroom this evening, at 8 o’clock:—

“In presenting the annual report and balance-sheet for the past season, your committee desires to congratulate members on a fairly successful season. “The season commenced with a credit balance of £ls 8s 7Jd, and finished with a credit balance of £ll 8s Od. This must be considered satisfactory in view of the fact that the annual ball showed a much smaller prolt than in the past, beside a shrinkage in members subs, and donations. Your committee desires to thank all who donated funds to the club. Special thanks are due to the Ladies’ Committee, presided over by Mrs Proctor, for carrying out the catering arrangements in connection with the ball.

During the year the club were unfortunate in losing the services of two of its valued members in the persons of Mi’. James Dunn and Mr. S. Head, through their removal from the district, and your committee wishes to place on record its apreciation of their efforts in fostering local football. We regret to record the death of Mrs Mason, wife of Mr. F. A. Mason, a valued member of the committee.

Members generaly will join in appreciation of the generous way in which the local Press has given space for reports of matches and football matters in general, a fact which greatly sustains interest in the sport.

In conclusion, your committee desires to say that the prospects for the coming season are encouraging, and provided members realise their responsibilities, a very successful season is anticipated. The balance-sheet shows total receipts for the .season of £54 8s Id made up of members subs., donations, insurance, dances, and Cr balance from last season. Expenditure amounted to £43 Os Id, the main item being footballs, insurance, affiliation, and leaving a balance on hand of £ll 8s Od less unpresented cheques of £5 8s Od.
