BURGLAR UNDER THE BED.
When Mr. and Mrs J. B. Wilton and their son returned to their home in Featherston Street, Palmerston North, on Saturday night, they saw a dim light within the house through the hall glass door. On making a room to room search they discovered a young man hiding under the bed. The sequel followed in the Palmerston Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning, when Michael Patrick Somers, 20 years of age, yvas charged with stealing from the dwellinghouse of Jabez Barnett Wilton one silver chain and two silver pencils, valued at 255, the property of J. B. Wilton.
On the application of Senior-De-tective Quirke, accused was remanded till Wednesday.
