WESTLAND ELECTION PETITION.

SEDDON ELECTED BY TWELVE VOTES.

Greymouth, March 10. The hearing of the Westland election petition was continued to-day. Mr. Justice Stringer reviewed the case, after which the Court and the returning officer retired to inspect voting papers which had been allowed and disallowed. Subsequently Mr. Justice Stringer announced that the polling figures had been cacfully readjusted, and checked, and the final figures were: —

Seddon .. • • 4175 O’Brien .. • • 4163 The Court held that Mr. Seddon was duly elected by 12 votes.
