SUTHERLAND STILL AT LARGE

So far the police have not yet been able to locate Ernest Taniwah Sutherland, for whose arrest on a charge of the alleged attempted murder of his wife a warrant has been issued. It will he remembered that, in the early hours of the morning of February 11, a murderous assault was made on two native women at Awahuri, in addition to a homestead being set on tire and completely destroyed. Mrs Sutherland, one of the victims of the assault, was the more seriously injured, and stiil remains in hospital, where she is making slow progress towards recovery,, while the other victim, her mother, Mrs Richard Drummond, was discharged from the institution some timeb ack.
