“ENVIRONMENT.”

At the Town Hall to-night patrons will have the pleasure of witnessing a modern drama dealing with a problem of the greatest importance to all communities —the effect of environment on the young people of to-day. Played by a typical star cast “Environment” tells a fine story of dramatic power balanced by sections of clever comedy and exciting moments. Supporting films are a special Sunshine Comedy, a variety film and latest Fox News. Prices as usual. “The Man nexl door” by Emerson Hough, author of “The Covered Wagon,” holds pride of place of a tomboy girl bred and raised in the West, but tempted by the cities luxuries. Alice Calhoun, James Morrison, and David Torronce are the leading players. “Dance Crazy,” is the comedy support and the latest Pathe Gazette supplies still more variety to a good programme. Usual prices. All Foxton should welcome the announcement of the date of screening of Charlie Chaplin’s “Gold Rush,” Thursday and Friday next. ROYAL PICTURES. In celebration of the completion of the filming of “The Heart of a Siren” to be screened at the Royal Theatre to-night, Barbara La Mangave a studio party which many well-known writers and famous folk of the stage and screen attended. Broadway theatrical circles were represented by Ann Pennington of the “Follies,” Henry Hull and Miss Teasdale of “The Youngest,” Helen Bolton of “My Girl” and John Louis Bartels of “The Show-off.” Other guests were executives of First National Pictures and the entire cast of “The Heart of a Siren.” Uomedy “About Face.”

Frank Stayton, is responsible for the story of “The Passionate Adventure” to be screened on Monday night. The plot is woven round the sincere and passionate love of Adrian St. Clair for his beautiful, but cold and unresponsive wife, Drusilla, and the scenes are laid principally amid high society and slums of London. The action is quick, and passes rapidly from one tense episode to the next.
