“THE ARAB.” Rex Ingram, producer of “The Four Horsemen,” has made another fine photoplay in “The Arab,” the screen feature at the Town Hall tomorrow (Friday) evening. Ramon Novarro and Alice Terry have the principal roles, that of the Sheik’s son and the missionary’s (laughter. The young Bedouin falls in love with the Christian girl, and through his tribe saves her and her father from intended massacre by the Mahommedans. The film was made in Northern Africa and many of the big scenes include thousands of Berber and Bedouin tribesmen who give wonderful displays of horsemanship and desert warfare. Supporting pictures include among others a Charles Murray comedy “Wild and Wicked.” Prices as usual.
An adventurous drama is promised for Saturday night when Edmund Lowe will be seen in the chief role of “Greater Than a Crown,” the story of a modern adventurer. An added attraction on Saturday evening will he the special monkey comedy “Westward Wihoa.” Prices as usual. ROYAL PICTURES. The Royal theatre announces the latest Independent Pictures Corporation release “The Fighting Smile,” to be screened on Friday, starring Bill Cody. • This is a western of unusual appeal, showing how a prodigal boy returns to his father’s ranch, to find many difficulties to overcome, and after helping his father by beating a gang of cattle rustlers, he falls in love with Frayne, the chief rustler’s step-daughter. She stands by him and helps him through a thrilling gun tight with the desperadoes, and he wakes up to the fact that although he might meet adventures in his wanderings, his own home is the best. Extra “The Riddle Rider.” Roy Stewart, star of several hundred Western film dramas lias the biggest and most important role of his career in “Sundown,” the spectacular epic of tho fast-fading cattle country, the attraction at the Royal theatre on Saturday.
