MR KIRKPATRICK’S BEQUESTS,
Nelson, February 8
By I lie will of the late Mr. S. Kirkpatrick, his fine residence, “Barkston,” situated at Mount Street, was bequeathed to the Freemasons of New Zealand for the purpose of providing a home for the orphan daughters of deceased Freemasons. The various Masonic Lodges throughout New Zealand have now elected a Board of Governors to manage the trust, and alocal executive committee has been set up. The house is now being altered to suit requirements, and Mrs Ilenniker, of Grevmouth, who lias been appointed matron, has taken up her residence at the institute. Several girls are expected during the next few days.
