CROQUET.
Bad luck as far as weather conditions, are concerned seems to be the lot this year of the annual croquet tournament of the Manawatu Croquet Association, and heavy rain yesterday afternoon again forced the abandonment of play for the day. Games were played in the championship singles and handicap singles and doubles, one of the lastnamed occupying three and a half hours.
In the handicap Doubles. —Mesdames MoMurray and-Moore (8£) beat Mesdames James Young and McGill (7), 26—7. Handicap Singles (B grade).— Mrs McMurray (7) beat Mrs Collinsou (9), 23 —21.
