COMPULSORY REGISTRATION.

FIRST PROSECUTION UNDER ACT. Hamilton, February 3. The first prosecution in the Dominion under the Legislature Amendment Act, 1924, whereby registration of those qualified to vote was made compulsory, was heard in the Hamilton Court to-day, when Selby Robson, and his wife, Lydia Robson, were charged with failing to make application for enrolment.

It was intimated that the case was brought as a warning, and defendants were convicted and ordered to pay 7s costs.
