METHODIST CHURCH

The Circuit Quarterly Meeting of the above was recently held at Shannon when representatives from both sides of the River were present. Reports were presented of the various activities within the Circuit, including the Sunday Schools, and were considered satisfactory. On the motion of Rev. S. Pervman the best thanks of all concerned was passed to all who had assisted in carrying on the work in the churches and Sunday Schools during the past year. The finances were not so buoyant as could have been desired and it was resolved to make a special effort to raise funds in connection with the Harvest Festival at the end of March. Mrs H. Barber was elected to represent the Circuit at the Dunedin Conference, with Mr. Chrystall as substitute. Messrs C. W. Hoffman (Foxton), and J. 11. Roberts (Shannon) were re-elected Circuit Stewards for the current year. Rev. S. Pervman intimated his willingness to remain in charge of the Circut for another year, conference permitting. At the close of the meeting supper was kindly provided by the Shannon ladies.
