Following the annual practice, • the Beach Improvement Committee , will hold sports on the local Beach . to-morrow. During the Christmas holidays the attendance at the seaside has been large the residences being fully occupied, and many resorting to canvas for night shelter, in addition to the great number of visitors daily per motor vehicles. With the sports attraction to-mor-row the attendance will no doubt be larger than ever. Liberal prizes have been set aside for the various events, and patrons are assured of plenty of fun. Hot water will be available at a small charge for those who may require it. An extensive programme of events includes competitions. S.A. PICNIC AT ASHHURST. A Salvation Army picnic will be held at Aslihurst to-morrow, the arrangements being to include members and friends of all corps in the district, including Foxton. It is reported that this attraction will be notable for the presence of three Bands, which will provide music throughout the day. In the evenings throughout the holidays the local picture theatres will provide special holiday attractions, particulars of which are set out in our advertising columns.
