He travels through the dens °f Gan Francisco, Shanghai, and Honolulu dragging down with him a girl who becomes addicted to drugs while he succumbs to liquor. WT He attempts to rise from the depths y hut when the case looks hopeless, a splendid thrill and a big surprise bring a wonderful picture to a close. Of an entirely different nature are the other pictures * both being made for laugh purposes al °nc, Mabel Normand’s adventures as a screen struck maiden in Mack Sennet’s “Extra Girl,” is a scream in the same class as “Girl Shy.” Lloyd Hamilton disguised as a negro trying to run down a gang of coloured boot-leggers in “His Darker Self,” should also provide tons of amusement. Usual prices 9d and 1/6 children 3d and Gd. On Friday Gilbert Frankau’s novel “Gerald Cranston’s Lady” in pieturised form will head the programme. This is the powerful story of a modern captain of industry, a dominating individual who uses capital to acquire title honours and social prestige necessary to complete his scheme in life. With this end in view he marries a noblewoman on the business basis of purchase, providing security for her future and that of her small son in return for the place she can give him in society. Prices as usual. On Saturday Edmund Lowe will be seen as a daring war-time aviator whose fatal fascination for other women proved a barrier to winning the woman he loved. The film bears the peculiar title “The Kiss Barrier.” The famous monkey comedians will also be seen in “Sinbad the Sailor” a comedy. Prices as usual. Betty Balfour of “Squibs” fame, will hold the screen on Monday next in a further adventure “Squibs’ Honeymoon.” This amusing tale tells of a bride who mislaid hubby - on her wedding da*.
