POSTAL INFORMATION

FOR CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS. The following hours of attendance and mail arrangements will be observed at the Foxton Post Office :

Thursday 24th December, 1925: —The Post Office will be open as usual with the exception that a delivery of all correspondence (registered included) will be made over the public counter between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday, 25th December, 1925 (’Xmas Day).—Post Office closed in all branches. Telegraph office closed in all branches. Telephone exchange open 9 a.in. to 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 26 December, 1925 (Boxing Day).—Telegraph closed all day. Telephone exchange 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Postman’s Delivery closed all day. Mails: for Taranaki, Palmerston North Wellington, close 6.30 a.m. P.O counter closed all day. Monday, 28 December, 1925: — Open as usual.

CHRISTMAS POSTINGS AND TELEGRAMS.

In order to secure as far as possible the distribution of Christmas messages over a number of days, the public is requested to assist the Department by posting correspondence and printed matter as well as sending telegraphic greetings as many days before Christmas as possible. This will also be of advantage to the public in ensuing delivery before Christmas Day. 1 NLA.ND T ELEGRA MS. Telegrams containing the text “wishing you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year" and bearing tin* instruction “greetings’’ will be accepted from the public on the 17th, 18th, 19th, 21st, 22nd and 21th December at a uniform charge of 6d, provided the address and signature together do not contain more than eleven words; any excess will he charged for at id per word. On the 28th, 29th, 30th, and 31st December telegrams containing the text .“wishing you a Happy New Year” will he accepted on the same conditions. CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR GREETINGS, CABLE OR RADIO MESSAGES. Special arrangements have been made for the acceptance, during the Christ nuts and iNew Year period of greetings cable messages aiddressed to any place in Great Britain, Ireland, Canada, or U.S.A.. For particulars of this class of cable message application should be made at the Post Office.
