DRUNKEN MOTORISTS SENT TO

PRISON,

Christchurch, December 5

Albert Manning, 29, who pleaded guilty on Thursday to charges of recklessly driving a motor while intoxicated, was this morning sentenced by the Magistrate to three months’ imprisonment on tlxe intoxication charge, with the addition of a month for unlawful conversion of the car to his own use. No option of a fine was given.

The Magistrate said the case was the worst of its kind yet before the Court, and showed how great a danger a drunken motorist was.
