IN BANKRUPTCY

The meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of George Thomas 1 Woodroofe, Auctioneer, Foxton, was held at Foxton on Tuesday. There were present the D.O.A. (Mr. C. E. Dempsy), bankrupt’s solicitor (Mr. Bergin), Mr. C. J. Annett on behalf of Neilsen and Co., Messrs H. Ries, Bowe and A. J. Blair /representing the Wellington Drain Pipe Company.) EX'MI NATION OF BANKRUPT. Bankrupt stated that he had not mentioned in his written statement that his interest in his mother’s estate was mortgaged. The interest amounted to about £450 and the property was leased with about eighteen months to run. lie considered the pipes from the Wellington Pipe Company were a straightout purchase. lie was three payments of £4l 7/7 each in arrears when the New Zealand Express Co., took possession of the Dennis lorry. This was in accordance with the agreement. The store lorry was held under hire purchase agreement from Neilson and Co., (Dannevirke). The car had been sold and he had been allowed full proceeds, this still left him, owing Neilsen’s the full amount claimed. The furniture in the house was his wife’s and had been insured in her name for twenty years.

Still another Foxton petition in bankruptcy has been filed at the office of the D.O.A. (Mr. C. E. Dempsy) that of Tuhi Kimura, aboriginal native of Foxton. No statement has yet been made by the bankrupt, except that he owes £6l 18s 5d to the following unsecured creditors: —

Perreau £5 10s Od, Royal Pitihera £3, all of Foxton; W. Parrott 15/4, and J. 11. Duncan £1 17s 6d, of Rangiotu.
