ROYAL PICTURES. Blanche Sweet, one of the most beautiful and gifted actresses on (lie screen, plays what many critics declare is her greatest role in Emmett Flynn's “In the Palace of the King,” which will he the feature picture at the Royal theatre tonight. Appealing wistfu'llness, golden hair and an inherent talent, car ried her to stardom early in her career in such stories as “Judith of Bethulia,” “The Escape,” “A Woman of pleasure,” and other pielures, but “In the Palace of the King,” she is starred to advantage. Mrs Irene Castle, famous danseuse and actress, appears again on the silver sheet for the second time in more than two years, in the picture called “No Trespassing,” which comes to the Royal theatre next Monday. It is difficult to estimate in advance the welcome that local theatre patrons will accord this celebrated and popular artiste. Suffice to say the Royal theatre will, no doubt, be crowded to capacity. “No Trespassing” is adopted from the novel by Joseph C. Lincoln. TOM MIX AT TOWN HALL. “The Deadwood Coach” the first of seven 11)25 Tom Mix specials booked for screening at the Town Hall will be the attraction to-night. This picture, adapted from Clarence Mulford’s novel “The Orphan,” tells of the stage coach of the early days, when a cross country trip meant a gun battle with perilous bands of white marauders and red savages. “Tony” the famous horse and Doris May play important roles in support of Mix who is stated to have exceeded all previous stunt efforts in this feature. A comedy: “Tons of trouble,” a scenic and News complete the programme. Usual prices. For Monday evening the management take pride in offering the brilliant Vaudeville turn “The Assuitlis,” Englands famous Duo, the lady a brilliant soprano and the gentleman a wonderful baritone and imitator extraordinary. A diverting feature „of the entertainment is Mr. Asquiths conversion of himself into a medley of farm-yard noises in which he imitates bird and beasts in marvellous manner. The leading picture on the programme is “The Mask of Lopez,” a production featuring the popular western star Fred Thompson. Popular prices 1/- and 1/6, children 3d and 6d.
