The speaker explained .that personally he had been responsible for putting into the policy a plank, which would provide a Mortgage Assessment Court to deal with over mortgaged land, and it was not going to r-omliscate property, but when it came to a vital issue, and producers were faced with going off the land bankrupt, then “paper” mortgages, would have to be reviewed, the same as the Dairy Farmers Union had accomplished, and under the soldier .settlement revaluation, the difference being, — that instead of a gift which was given (o wealthy land owners by the Reform Government at the public expense, the people who sold land on the London price of but terfat in the boom, instead of normal productive values, would have to share (lie loss, and let the producer and working farmer live. The speaker answered many vital questions, and was requested, if possible, to speak ngqin in Glen Oroua when he was assured a large audience.
