TO MOTORISTS
CONDITION OF’ROADS
The weekly report of the Wellington Automobile Club gives the following information regarding the roads of the district: —
Wellington - Shannon-Palmerston North: Fair to good till one mile south of Shannon, then badly potholed for five miles, but is being repaired. Rest fair. Motorists should travel slowly near Levin where roads are being re-construc-ted for bitumen surfacing.
Welling!on-Foxton - Bulls: Road fair to good all the way. Foxton-Palmerston North: Fair to good, except between Rangiolu and Himatnngi which is pot-holed.
Palmerston North - Wanganui: Good to Wangaehu. Remainder of road to Wanganui pot-holed as usu-
Wellington - Alas ter ton - Napier: Patchy north of Tauhenikau. Remainder fair to good . Palmerston N.-Woodville: Gorge again open mut motor lorry traffic prohibited. Speed limit through Gorge is 15 m.p.li. Enquire “Anrd” at Palmerston Nirth or Woodville in case of slips. The following routes are reeommended for motorists from Wellington: to Palmerston North: via, Shannon. To Napier: via Palmerston North. To Taranaki: via Foxton. To Taupo: via Palmerston North, Napier.
