BOWLING.
FEILDING BOWLING CLUB.
The ojmning of the Feilding Bowling Club was held on Saturday afternoon in unpropitious weather. Mr. Geo. Bartholomew, the president, formally declared the green open and expressed regret that the weather had spoilt the afternoon. Visiting rinks were present from race End. Northern, Takaro and race End, Northern Takaro and Marten Clubs. As the green was barelv fit to play on, only a few friendly heads were played. The Feilding Band played selections and afternoon tea was provided by the president and presided over by his daughter, Mrs Young, Hawera. Members of the Feilding Croquet Club were also present and they intend to hold a gala afternoon tomorrow. Invitations have been sent to sister clubs. To-morrow afternoon Levin Club will open their green, when three rinks will be present from Foxton, weather permitting. A meeting of Committee will be held in the Club’s pavilion at 8 o’clock this evening.
