ENTERTAINMENTS.
* “A DANGEROUS PASTIME.”
In pursuance of the policy of selecting special programmes of variety which has proved such a success on recent Saturdays at the Town Hall the management offer for this' week end an emotional drama featuring Lew Cody and titled “A Dangerous Pastime,” a Sunshine Animal Comedy “Roaring Lions at Home,” a fine Educational Scenic “Fur Trappers at Work,” and the latest events of the world per medium of Fox News. “A Dangerous Pastime” tells of the adventures of an easy going young man who finds himself in the hands of an unscrupulous woman held for ransom. Action is fast and exciting, the whole picture being noteworthy for the settings and scenery used as a background for the story. Prices as usual. Next Monday “Daughters of Pleasure” featuring Marie Prevost and Monte Blue, will head a programme in which the most notable supporting film is a Snub Pollard comedy “The Green Cat.” Later in the week Ethel M. Dell’s great success “The Top Of The World” will be seen in picture form .James Kirk wood, Anna Q. Nilson and Sheldon Lewis are the more prominent players.
ROYAL PICTURES. : «r “ Tom Mix is coming to the Royal Theatre for Saturday in his greatest Western drama, “Single Shot Parker,” produced by William N. Selig, and pronounced by him to lie the 'greatest Tom Mix picture ever produced. “Single Shot. Parker” gives a thrill in every reel and presents some of the most daring stunts ever enacted before the camera. Tom Mix is at his best in this production. It will be shown at the Royal Theatre Saturday. Mystery is the keynote of the entertainment provided by “Secrets of the Night,” Universal-Jewell coming to the Royal theatre next Thursday with an all star cast, the featured players of which are James Kirkwood and Madge Bellamy. Strange noises cause consternatiori and alarm, and strange 'figures flit about the spacious rooms of the mansion. While the tension is acute a shot is heard and the guests find the body of their host in the room of one of the women guests. Comes the coroner, but just as he is about to place them under’ arrest it is discovered that the body has vanished. The explanation then comes as a surprise.
