PLUNKET SOCIETY.
The monthly meeting was held in the Plunket office on Monday afternoon. Present: Mesdanies F. Robinson (president), Christie, Trueman, Walton, A. Ross, Chrystall, Downes, Barr and McMurray. Before proceeding with the business the president asked that a motion of sympathy be passed to Mr. F. Mason and family in the bereavement they had sustained. Mrs Mason had been a valued member of the committee and had been a very willing worker. The miotion was carried in the usual manner.
Plunket Nurse Jones’s report showed four visits to Foxton, adults to office 35, children 42, visits to homes 12, new eases 3. Nurse Jones mentioned that on her last three visits in September, the weather was extremely inclement and this prevented monthers bringing out the babies. The secretary reported that the shop day held on September 26 cleared £l4 19/7. Mr. Healey’s weighing machine had realised £1 7/3 and the contribution box 6/3. The secretary ..was instructed to write to the United Sports’ Association asking for permission to have collectors on the grounds at the motor sports on Labour Day. Mrs Hynes, a member of the committee, who is leaving the district, is to be tendered a - farewell tea on Monday 19 at the Plunket office. Mesdames Chrystall and Rimnier were appointed visitors and Mrs, Walt on flower steward for the month.
