THOSE ENTITLED TO VOTE.

POSITION EXPLAINED.

Dunedin, October 11.

In order to clear up the position regarding those electors whose occupation keeps them moving about the country, and also those coming of age between the closing of the rolls and the date of the election, the Prime Minister (Hon. J. G. Coates) stated to-day that if persons were married and had permanent homes, they could register for those districts in which their homes were situated, notwithstanding their occasional absence. If they had no permanent homeSj they could not register until they had resided for three months in an electoral district. Persons coming of age after the issue of writs and be-, fore polling day, were not entitled to vote.
