UNITED SPORTS ASSOCIATION

MONTHLY MEETING.

The usual monthly meeting of the above was held in the Racing Club Buildings on Friday night, presided over by Mr. W. E. Barber. Also present were Messrs. Bryant, Ogilvy, Christie, Thomson, Hutchins, S. Barber, and the secretary (Mr. F. Rimmer). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. Jewell (President), S. Austin, Mason, Perreau and Alexander. CORRESPONDENCE was read and dealt with as follows : From the Foxton Silver Band stating that the Band is prepared to play at the sports meeting on Labour Day for the sum of £lO. If the sports are not a financial success, however, the Band is prepared to as' ist the Association. —Held over. From Mr. Gaisford, of Palmerston North, accepting position as liandicappcr for the sports.—Received. From A. C. Boyd Motors, Hastings, stating that one or two of their zenith riders would he in attendance at the Foxton meeting, and asking for entry forms. —Secretary instructed to forward same. From secretary of the Manawatu Motor Club, stating that the following officials have accepted office: — Judge: Mr. E. V. West; starter: Mr. S. Burrell; liandicappcr for cycle events: Mr. T. Bruce. Mr. Bruce also offered to act as starter in these events. —Received. From J. Martin, Foxton, accepting position as ambulance officer on sports day.—Received. From the New Zealand AutoCycle Union, enclosing list of secretaries of affiliated clubs. —Recti ved. From same, enclosing list of registered riders of last season. —Received. NEW MEMBERS. The following new members were elected: — G. F. Smith, F. Woods, J. W. Winstanlcv, IT. Ilornblow, J. Scott, R. Ilornblow, J no. Ross. Business of minor importance dealt with and the meeting adjourned.
