Matters in connection with the ITorowhenua County Councils scheme of road construction to cost £170,000 have now reached the stage of action (says the Chronicle). Work has actually been commenced on the Levin-Manakau bridge section and 800 cubic yards of metal have been put out in the past, ten days. Preparations are also being made to top-dress with bitumen the mile and a half of road through the Settlement, south of Levin.
