FOXTON SILVER BAND

A meeting of the above was held after practice in the bandroom on Thursday evening last, presided over by Mr. J. Newth.

It was decided that a full dress parade he held in the band-room on 'Monday evening, the 21st inst., and that all outstanding- instrumentis, iiiul property of the band be called in for inspection, and that an inventory be taken of all property belonging to the band.

A letter was read from the president of the local horticultural Society, asking the band to eontribute a programme of music at the spring show. It was decided that the secretary write expressing the Band’s sincere regret in not being able to comply with the Society’s request, as the Band was not in a position at present to play out.

It was further decided that the Bandmaster (Mr. H. Osboime) procure suitable music, so that the band may be able to render a programme for the public in the near future. Mr. R. Heath was given leave of absence for three months. Owing to so many new members coining forward it was decided to hold the ballot over untill after the inventory of band instruments. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the meeting.
