EXPECTANT MOTHERS.
TREATMENT AT PUBLIC HOSPITAL.
The chairman of the Hospital .Board (Sir -J. G. Wilson) recalled to other members of the Palmerston North Hospital Board on Thursday 7, a scheme which had been started at the local Hospital to give antenatal treatment and advice to expectant mothers. The scheme had not been taken complete advantage of and according to the Superintendent, only three mothers had applied for advice and that was some time ago. Of recent times no one had applied and he considered that the matter should again he given publicity. It was a pity 7 mothers did not take advantage of the facilities afforded. Arrangements could be made for any delicacy in the matter by providing a private room for such consultations. If the great deal of relief in sickness —and sometimes it was a serious sickness that ended fatally— could he given before the child was born. He would like all expectant mothers to know that treatment and advice could lie obtained at the Hospital.-
