WEDDING.

KAVANAH—DIAMOND

A very pretty •wedding- was solemnised in St. Mary’s Church, Foxton, on Wednesday last, September 9th, the contracting parties being Mr. Edward Kavanah of Palmerston North, .nephew of Mi’s Mulrooney Palmerston North, and Miss Margaret Diamond daughter of Mrs Diamond, Belfast, Ireland. The service was fully choral, Mesdames Delany and Miss Laydon Palmerston and Mr. Golder taking the soloist parts and Rev. Father McDermott officiating. The church had been artistically decorated with arum lilies, by the friends of..the bride, while over the heads of the couple was suspended a beautiful "wedding bell of white flowers, with pink streamers, the work of Mrs' S. Wright.

The bride entered the church on the arm of Mr. Bergin, and was charmingly attired in a frock of cinnamion silk georgette with hat to match, and carried a. shower bouquet of pink peach blossom and asparagus with mauve streamers. She was attended by Miss Peggy Lander, of Wellington, (niece of the bridegroom) who wore a dainty frock of green erepe-de-chene and gold face with a hat to match, and carried a shower bouquet of snowflakes, freezia-s and asparagus with gold streamers. The bouquets were the work of Mrs Frank Proctor. Mr. Frank Giles, of Wellington, carried out the duties, of best man.

After the ceremony the happy couple were entertained at a wedding breakfast at Wall’s rooms, by Mrs Muh-ooney, the usual toasts being honoured and felicitous speeches made. Later the happy couple left bycar on their lione.ymoon, the bride travelling in a three piece suit of havana brown with hat to match.

After the honeymoon , which is being spent in Auckland, Mr. and Mb's Kavanah will take up their residence in Palmerston North.

Some very handsome presents were received, including several cheques for substantial amounts.

. A quiet.but. pretty wedding took place in the Presbyterian Church, Foxton on September Ist, when Andrew, youngest son of Mr and Mrs A. Reid, of Foxton was joined in matrimony to Helen, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs Smith, of New Plymouth. The bride, who was given away by Mr. Gilbert Judd, was daintily attired in a pale lavender frock of crepe-de-ehene with hat to match and carried a bouquet of spring flowers. She was attended as bridesmaid by Miss Agnes Barton, who wore a. frock of silver grey chepe-de-ehene with oriental trimmings and hat to match, and who carried a bouquet of spring flowers. The bridegroom ■was attended by Mr. Frank Proctor as best man.

The church had been decorated for the occasion by the members of the choir, of which the bridegroom is an esteemed member. The guests were subsequently 7 entertained at the wedding breakfast at the residence of the bridegroom’s parents, where the usual toasts were honoured.

The happy couple later left by ,motor for the south, where their honeymoon will be spent.
