IN BANKRUPTCY.
A meeting of tiie creditors in tlie bankrupt estate of Sidney JJudson, fruiterer of Foxton, was held in the Town Hall Supper-room yesterday morning, presided over by Mr. Dempsey, District Official Assignee. Bankrupt on oath, slated that he was a returned soldier and had lost one arm in the war. lie had been assisted by the Repatriation Society with two grants of £IOO. With the lirst grant and a little of his own money he had started business as a fruiterer in Foxton. About twelve months ago he had discovered that he was in difficulties and had informed his chief creditor of the fact, but was advised to keep on. He attributed his bankruptcy to slackness of trade last summer, followed by a bad winter. He had used private money from his own account to keep payments up.
It was decided that bankrupt be granted his discharge at the next sitting of the Supreme Court. The meeting was then adjourned sine die.
