HOCKEY CLUB’S BALL
The first .'imnial hall held by the Ladies’ Hockey flub was held in the Town lfall on Thursday evening last. The ball which was opened by the Mayor was (he most successful held this season, there being a bon l 140 couples present, visitors being in attendance from all surrounding districts. The interior of the hall was very attractive the decorative scheme being carried out with red and blue streamers. The -iage in particular was worthy of note. Music was supplied hv Larkin’s Orchestra, who were in their usual splendid form and had to encore every dance. A feature of the dance was a “storm” waltz, with coloured light effects. Extras were played by .Mrs Davey, Miss Oclany and Mr. H. George. Messrs. F. Woods and AT. E. Perrean aeiud as M’s C.
Tlie supper-room was decorated with blue si reamers, with bowls of wattle for table decorations. The supper arrangements were in the hand.- of the members of the club under I lie supervision of Mesdaines P. Procter and Anderson, to whom the thanks of the (Tub are due. 'flic Committee also desires to thank Mesdaines Seabury and Walls, the men who carried out the decorating and all who assisted in any way to make the function such a success.
